The tenderness of the beef is always something to look forward to in a bowl of beef noodles. With a variety of cuts to choose from (triple, brisket, tendon or frank), it is hard to get tired of this dish.

Not only that, there are other parts of the beef noodle that is yummy. The soup entices me with its herbs and spices brew. Plus, the tart chilli sauce is unique of the beef noodle. Made of grated lengkuas (galangal root), squeezed lime and cincaluk (pickled shrimp), the slight sour and spicy taste helps add a different dimension to the taste and not make eating the beef too much on the stomach.

Oh my. I’m now craving for a good bowl of this again.

Bananareo Icecream recipe

Yes it’s banana + oreo icecream!

It’s really simple. The texture isn’t quite like icecream but it does have a smooth consistency. Some people told me to add milk in order to get that icecream-like texture so I will experience with my next batch of bananas.

Maybe this time, I will do a nutella version.

INGREDIENTS: 
4-5 frozen bananas
6 oreo cookies

RECIPE : 
CUT the bananas
BLEND bananas in food processor
ADD mashed cookies
FREEZE again for at least a day
SERVE

Apple Crumble recipe

I desperately wanted to use my ramekins from daiso ($2!) so I decided to bake up a simple apple crumble for teatime!

ingredients

serves 2

filling
2 Granny Smith Apples
1/4 lemon
1 tbsp caster sugar

topping
1/4 cup plain flour
30g finely chopped walnuts
2 tbsp caster sugar
1 tbsp dark brown sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
30g butter

cut apple into 1cm cubes (you can see I did a terrible job here. HA. )

squeeze lemon over apples (this helps the apples from turning brown during baking)

mix all the topping ingredients together except the butter

pour butter over and mix well

scoop topping over apple mixture
set greaseproof paper
bake at 200C for 30 minutes

It’s really simple to prepare and only took me 20 minutes to prepare all the ingredients. I spent that time pre-heating the oven. The walnuts add crunch to the otherwise plain crumble topping so please don’t leave that out when you make this!
